The AI job check

Check the posting before you apply

Most application tools help you write faster. Jobvin tells you beforehand whether writing is worth it at all.

Paste the link to the posting or drop in the text. The job check compares it against your resume and hands you one page: how well you fit, what exactly is behind that number, and what you can still change before you send anything.

The first check is free, no payment details.

A percentage, plus a verdict in two sentences

Example view

  • Apply now
  • Apply
  • Only with a good reason
  • Don’t apply

At the top there is a percentage and, right below it, a verdict in exactly two sentences: what carries your application and what it is missing. No cheering, no warning colours - both get named.

  1. Add the posting

Paste the link and let it load, or copy the text of the posting in. Job boards with bot protection do not always load - the pasted text works just as well.

  2. Match it against your profile

The check reads your resume from the Master Profile, so you never type anything twice. Without a filled-in profile, though, there is nothing to compare.

  3. Read the result

Your fit, the eleven criteria one by one, a salary benchmark, the legitimacy verdict and the questions to expect. All on one page, in the language of the posting.

What the check tells you

What you get at the end is a page, not a number. It answers three questions in order: how well do you fit, what exactly is behind that, and which part of it can still be fixed today?

  1. A percentage, plus a verdict in two sentences

At the top there is a percentage and, right below it, a verdict in exactly two sentences: what carries your application and what it is missing. No cheering, no warning colours - both get named.

  2. All 11 criteria, each one argued separately

Your fit breaks down into 11 fixed criteria. Each gets its own value, two or three sentences of reasoning and short pieces of evidence from your profile - what speaks for you, and what is missing.

  3. Quick fixes with effort and points

Every gap you can still close before sending is listed as its own item, with the estimated effort in minutes and the points it adds to your fit. Tick one off and the number at the top moves with it.

Whatever belongs in your Master Profile, Jobvin writes for you on request. You see the before and after first, and you can undo it for 24 hours.

  4. A salary benchmark from official data

The check puts the pay in context against the Entgeltatlas of the German Federal Employment Agency, resolved by the occupation and the region of the role. Where there is no record, the benchmark stays empty instead of being guessed.

  5. Is the posting real?

A section of its own looks at whether there is a real, open role behind the posting: how specific the description is, whether the requirements contradict each other, what the pay and the age of the posting suggest. The outcome is a verdict on three levels plus the signals behind it.

Written as observations, never as accusations. Every signal has harmless explanations too - the call is yours.

  6. The questions this interview will bring

At the end you get the questions that follow from the posting and your resume. Each with one line on why it comes up here in particular, and what your answer has to deliver.

  7. Seven detail blocks to read through

Below the summary sits the long report: role profile, match against your resume, seniority strategy, compensation, resume changes, interview prep and legitimacy.

All 11 criteria, each one argued separately

72 %Result
  • Suitability & career level
  • Responsibilities & competencies
  • Domain knowledge & tools
  • Industry experience

The order is fixed and does not come from the model. That way you can put two results side by side and compare the same line.

What the check cannot do

Your fit is an assessment, not a measurement. It is based on what the posting says and on what your profile says - not on the other applications that came in. The check does not know who gets invited, and it does not claim to.

These are the 11 criteria the job check looks at

  1. Suitability & career level
  2. Responsibilities & competencies
  3. Domain knowledge & tools
  4. Industry experience
  5. Leadership experience
  6. Availability
  7. Education & degrees
  8. Languages
  9. Location & mobility
  10. Salary expectation
  11. Presence & proof

How to spot a posting that is not genuine

Not every posting is looking for a person. Some harvest data, some are bait for a scam, some are leftovers from last year. The job check watches out for this too - but the patterns are worth knowing yourself, because they barely change.

  1. Too good for what it asks

Above-average pay for minimal requirements, "no experience needed", "start from home today". The job market gives nothing away.

  2. Vague beyond recognition

No concrete tasks, no team, no location, only buzzwords. Real roles have real details - and how specific a description is happens to be the first signal the check looks at.

  3. Contact through a free email address

The reply address sits with a free email provider instead of the company domain, or on a domain that differs from the real one by a single letter. Add pressure: "today only", "confirm right away".

  4. No digital footprint

The company has no website, no legal notice, no company register entry. Or a website that is two weeks old.

  5. The process runs backwards

An offer without an interview, a contract over a messenger app, "onboarding" before anyone has spoken to you.

  6. ID before contract

A copy of your ID, your tax number, bank details or a selfie verification before any interview has taken place. You never hand that over, in any process.

Is the same role listed on the company career page? That is the strongest proof of authenticity you can get for free, and it takes two minutes.

What "a 60 % match" actually means

The percentage is not a school grade and not a probability. It says how much of what this posting asks for can be evidenced from your profile today.

  1. What matters is which criteria are missing

Two applications with the same number can look completely different. One is missing a keyword in the summary, the other is missing the leadership experience the posting names twice. That is why every criterion is listed on its own: the number alone answers nothing, the breakdown below it does.

  2. The value is a starting point, not a verdict

Right under your fit sit the quick fixes, each with its points. Tick them off and the page works out the value that is realistic once you have made the changes. You do not have to invent anything for that: a suggestion may only contain what is already in your resume.

  3. And you still get a recommendation in plain words

It ends on one of four levels: apply now, apply, only with a good reason, do not apply. The bottom one is deliberate. A hopeless application costs you half an evening, and that half evening is better spent on a role where it pays off.

And you still get a recommendation in plain words
  1. Apply now
  2. Apply
  3. Only with a good reason
  4. Don’t apply

The percentage deliberately appears only in the result page. In the Application Tracker and on the dashboard it stays a one-to-five rating. A number that means two different things in two places is not a good number.

From the check to a finished application

The result is not an endpoint. Everything the check found is already attached to this application - you never enter it a second time.

  1. Move the fixes into your profile

Whatever belongs in your Master Profile, Jobvin writes with one click. The before and after is shown first, and undo stays open for 24 hours.

  2. Tailor the resume to the role

The same result feeds a tailored version of your resume. Those changes stay inside this application and never touch your Master Profile.

  3. Have the cover letter written

The cover letter already knows the posting and your evidence. You pick the tone: factual, motivated or direct.

  4. Keep the application in the Application Tracker

From the check onwards the role sits in your Application Tracker, with date, status and a reminder to follow up. Sending happens from your own inbox, never from a Jobvin address.

Frequently asked questions

What does a check cost?

The first check is free and needs no payment details. After that the job check is part of Pro, where you get up to ten checks per hour - a limit that exists only to prevent abuse.

Where does the rating come from?

From a comparison, not from a database of other applicants. The AI reads the text of the posting and your resume from the Master Profile and argues each of the eleven criteria separately, citing evidence from your profile. The salary benchmark comes on top of that, from the Entgeltatlas of the German Federal Employment Agency. The names of the criteria and their order are fixed in the product so that two results stay comparable.

What if I do not meet every requirement?

That is the normal case, and it is exactly what the result page is for. Every gap comes with how much it weighs and how you can offset it: through adjacent experience, a sentence in the cover letter, or a small project. The check never suggests qualifications you do not have - every suggestion has to be backed by your resume.

Is any of my data sent to the employer?

No. The check runs for you alone, and the employer learns nothing about it. Jobvin also never sends an application in your name: you download the documents and send them from your own inbox. For the check itself, the text of the posting and your resume go to our AI processor; your name, email address, phone number and postal address are replaced by placeholders beforehand and put back only after the answer arrives. Your content is not used to train AI models.

Check the next posting before you spend the evening on it

Add the posting, read the result. After that you know whether applying is worth it - and if it is, what to fix first.
