What the AVGS is
The Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein is an authority committing itself to pay for a particular measure. For you that means: you get no money in your hand, you get coaching you do not pay for.
A voucher, not a payout
You hand the voucher to a provider, and the provider settles with the office that issued it. No share is left over for you. Without an approved voucher the very same coaching is an ordinary paid service.
The provider has to be certified
Not every coaching can be paid for with an AVGS. Both have to be certified: the provider and the measure itself, audited under the AZAV by independent expert bodies. That is exactly why Jobvin searches the offer database of the Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit rather than the open web.
It is about your application, not about a course
Application coaching works on how you come across as a candidate: on your documents, your strategy, the interview. If you want to learn something new professionally instead, that is training. A different path with different funding.
What is deliberately missing from this page
How long your voucher is valid, how many hours it covers and what kind of measure it was issued for is written on the voucher itself. Jobvin does not know it and calculates nothing from it. For those details the office that issued it is responsible.

Who gets an AVGS
That is decided by your caseworker at the Agentur fuer Arbeit or at the Jobcenter. Nobody outside that office can promise you a voucher, and whoever does anyway is promising something that is not theirs to give.
The authority decides, not Jobvin
Whether coaching is the right instrument in your situation is judged by the office that knows your case. Jobvin checks no requirements, issues nothing and has no influence whatsoever on that decision. This page explains the path and shows you offers - it cannot do more.
It is rarely offered unprompted
If you want a voucher, raise it: at your next appointment or through whatever channel you usually use to write to your caseworker. Say as concretely as you can what you want to work on. Anyone who already knows which offer they mean can ask a much sharper question.
A no is a decision, not a verdict about you
If the voucher is refused, get them to tell you why. Only the reasoning shows you whether a second attempt later is worth it or whether a different instrument fits better.

How you get to a coaching
The usual path has four steps. It is orientation, not procedural law: what applies in your case is told to you by the office issuing the voucher.
Raise the voucher
At your appointment at the Agentur fuer Arbeit or the Jobcenter, bring up that you want application coaching, and why.
Read the voucher
The voucher states what it is valid for and until when. That is the frame within which you pick an offer.
Pick an offer
Search by location and radius in the career tools, choose one-to-one or group coaching, and ask the provider whether they accept your voucher and when they have a place.
Hand over the voucher
The provider submits it and settles with the authority. You pay nothing on top, neither before nor after.

You still have to document things yourself
Coaching does not replace your Eigenbemuehungen, the job-search efforts you have to document. What you have to show in applications is stated in your Eingliederungsvereinbarung, and you can keep the record in the Application Tracker.
What Jobvin does here
Jobvin is not a training provider, not a coach and not a placement agency. Jobvin is the search that comes before - and a few clear limits behind it.
A search in the official offer database
The list of hits comes fresh from the offer database of the Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit with every search. Jobvin keeps no provider list of its own that quietly goes stale, and adds nothing to it either.
Location, radius and format
You enter a location and choose the radius: 25, 50, 100 or 200 kilometres, or nationwide. The default is 50 kilometres. On top of that you can distinguish between one-to-one and group coaching.
What is on a card
Provider, title of the offer, address and the contact routes held in the database: website and email. Several dates from the same provider are combined into one card, otherwise a single measure would fill the whole list. One search shows no more than twenty cards.
A curated list as a fallback
Below the hits sits a fixed list of nationwide online providers. It stays visible even when the official interface returns nothing - the page is not meant to be a dead end. It is a selection and explicitly not a recommendation, not a vetting and not a complete overview.
In the job check the hint appears by itself
If an evaluation in the job check comes out weak, Jobvin shows a block there with up to three providers. With good results it does not appear, because then it is only in the way.
Limits of the search
The search is capped at 30 queries per hour - a limit that exists only so the official interface does not suffer because of Jobvin. And it tells you nothing about the quality of a provider: that an offer is in the database means it is listed there, not that it is good.

Jobvin does not coach, signs no contract, books no appointment and passes your data to no provider. You get in touch yourself, through the website or the email address on the card. Whether a provider suits you and whether they accept your voucher is something you settle with them.
